Chasers (3): The Chasers throw the red, leather Quaffle ball to one another, aiming to throw it through one of the opponent's three golden goal hoops to score 10 points.
Keepers (1): The Keeper guards the three goal hoops, acting as a high-flying aerial goalie to block incoming Quaffle throws.
Beaters (2): Armed with small wooden bats, Beaters protect their teammates by batting away the heavy, black, iron Bludgers. Bludgers fly autonomously, attempting to knock players off their brooms.
Seeker (1): The Seeker's sole task is to search the skies for the tiny, golden, winged Golden Snitch. Capturing the Snitch scores 150 points and immediately ends the game, usually securing victory for the capturing team.
